It’s a common sight to see a would be mechanic with a spanner in one hand, leant over the engine of a car, and one of the Haynes Car Manuals in the other hand. They are every car owner’s bible, for people who want to fix their own vehicle and garage professionals use them too. The series is designed to instruct on the repair and maintenance of a vast range of vehicle makes and models. There are also editions on different types of motorcycles. Originally called Haynes Owners Workshop Manuals, the books enable the owner to strip a vehicle down if necessary and build it up again. This is done with the aid of diagrams, photographs and easy to follow instructions.

The series has now been translated into fifteen languages, including Greek, Hebrew, Russian, German, Czech, French, Polish, Swedish, Chinese and Japanese. English editions have been further split into American English and Australian English versions. There is also an American Spanish edition. The first ever Haynes Car Manuals volume was for the Austin Healey Sprite in 1965. Other makes to follow included Ford, Chrysler, Chevrolet, Toyota, BMW, Alfa Romeo, Mercedes-Benz and Honda. There is also an edition titled Citroen and Peugeot Engine Management Systems.

The Haynes Publishing Group Company is based in Somerset, England, where there is also a Haynes Motor Museum, containing the largest collection of classic cars in the UK. Haynes Car Manuals, in addition to producing books on specific models, also publish a series of technical manuals. These include the Automotive Diesel Engine Service Guide, Automotive Air Conditioning Tech Book and the Engine Management and Fuel Injection Systems Pin Tables. There are also editions on emissions control, brakes, suspension, electrical systems, wiring diagrams and body repair and painting.

The Haynes Group also publishes titles on other subjects but these are not nearly so well known. These include books on personal computers, digital photography, model railways and domestic appliances. Vehicle models come and go but the technical make up and history of each one is captured in the Haynes Car Manuals, a vast library of knowledge. They are vital sources of information when a new vehicle comes on the market and when someone acquires a used car or classic car. Even a rookie mechanic can learn the basics of car maintenance pretty quickly as the books are so user friendly. Of course, if you still don’t know where the brakes are, consult a qualified expert!

With the growing popularity of MP3 players, in car CD players are more affordable than ever. Although they are still adequate for music listening, car audio cd players are no longer cutting-edge technology. As such, you can get them for a fraction of what they cost just a few years ago. If you have been doing without, you will be amazed at the difference that one can make.

I drive an old junker, and never fix anything in it that is not broken. When one of my friends suggested that I get an in car CD player, I thought that he was being ridiculous. Why would I pay money for in car CD players when I had the radio available? It just didn’t make sense. Sure, with the radio I couldn’t choose exactly the music that I wanted when I wanted to, but I’ve never had that option so I couldn’t miss it.

When I saw how cheap in car CD players were, however, I decided what the heck. I went out and bought a JVC car CD player right away. It was much easier to install than I thought. Basically, all cars that do not come with in car CD players come with a deck where you can plug one in. All you have to do is connect a few cables, screw in a few screws in, and you are ready. Anyone with even the most rudimentary electrical experience could do it.

I don’t know how I did without an in car CD player for so long. It’s great to be able to choose your music! I have even been thinking about upgrading my other audio equipment. Having in car CD players is great, but I would enjoy it even more if my speakers weren’t blown. Listening to high-quality digital music on speakers that buzz and hiss with every beat can get kind of annoying!

In my opinion, in car CD players are even better than MP3 players. Think about it. Everyone wants an MP3 player or an Apple iPod. People rip them off all the time. Back in the day, in car CD players were like that. People would break into your car just to steal your car CD audio player or your radio. Now that iPods are around, however, people don’t do that anymore. They leave the in car CD players alone. The way I see it, it’s better to have something that’s a little out of date than something that will get stolen right away!

One inevitable thing in life is that sooner or later our cars decide it’s time to give up. Most of us try and nurse our vehicles back to life with the aid of a mechanic but that doesn’t always help. At some point it’s time to start looking for a new set of wheels. When you need to buy a new car there are some important things to keep in mind that will help you save money and time.

Knowing what make and model you want can help a great deal when you are car shopping. Some people go to the new car lot with a vague idea of what they would like in a car. This can be frustrating as each new model you are shown may seem better than the last. When you are ready to buy a new car, you really do need to do some preliminary research in order to get the best deal.

With the introduction of the Internet everything is easier to research. All you need is a computer with a connection to the online world and you are set. Take some time to go over reviews for different makes and models of cars. Also check out the options that are available so you know what to look for when you get to the car dealer.

There’s long been a rumor floating around that says that different times of the months offer better deals when it comes to buying a car. The simple fact is that most car salesmen are paid on commission and they are expected to sell a certain amount per month. You may find you get a better deal if you buy a new car near the end of the month, but this is certainly not proven or guaranteed.

Many people mistakenly believe that the price sticker found on the car is the absolute bottom line price. This really isn’t true and most car salesmen are given some room to negotiate. When you buy a new car you want the best deal possible and they want to sell you a car. It’s how they make money. So if you find the car you want, begin by making a reasonable offer and expect to negotiate from there.

One benefit of brand new cars is that you can often order them exactly the way you want. This means that you can request a specific color for the exterior paint as well as the interior of the car. You can pay a bit extra to get air conditioning or a fantastic stereo system. Again, all of this is negotiable and must be decided on before you sign the contract to buy a new car.

Check out the warranties that are available too before you finalize the purchase. It can be very important to have that extra warranty in place when something goes horribly wrong. Many times, you’ll get a better deal on the extended warranty price if you purchase it at the same time you buy the car.

You have never been in a real accident unless you have been in a Chicago car accident. I recently took a trip to the Windy City and I was overwhelmed with the traffic. My experience driving in this well-known town wasn’t the best and I feel the need to offer some insight on how a Chicago car accident can change your life.

Since I had no idea where I was going, I relied heavily on the street signs on the highway to help me along. The problem was that there were so many big trucks on the highway that I couldn’t see the signs in time. This dilemma was a source of major panic and there was little doubt that part of my driving experience would involve a Chicago car accident.

This isn’t really leading where you might think. This particular car accident in Chicago wasn’t my fault. In fact, I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. However, I might have avoided the whole entire incident if I were a little quicker with my reflexes and a little less concerned about reading the signs on the road.

When a Chicago car accident occurs on the highway, there is a good chance that more than one vehicle will be involved in the wreck. On the busy day that I ventured out on the highway leading into the Windy City, there was a major pile-up. One car rear-ended another and another followed. The chain continued for what seemed to be miles but I’m sure that it wasn’t that bad.

I wasn’t among the individuals in the wreck but I was one of the individuals profoundly disturbed by the occurrence. I was among a countless number of people stuck waiting to get off on the exit where the Chicago car accident occurred. This was not good for a few reasons.

First of all, I waited until last minute to leave. I figured that my directions would get me there in no time. I really underestimated the difficulty of traveling to a big city. The Chicago car accident was just enough to pretty much insure that I wasn’t going to make it to my interview.

After seeing how difficult it is to drive in the big city, I wasn’t sure whether or not I actually wanted the job. I called the potential employer and told her about the wreck. She wound up interviewing me over the phone and we set up another time to meet. I did wind up getting the job and I wonder if it had something to do with the Chicago car accident.

Precautions are imperative in this world. You lay a rubber mat on the floor of your shower so no one falls and gets hurt. You lock your doors at night so no one can break in and do you harm. You pay for insurance on your vehicle so it’s protected in an accident. You even pay monthly for medical plans so you don’t have to worry about what you’ll do if you become ill or break an arm. These are all life precautions. They’re actions we take intentionally so we have some peace of mind in our everyday lives. Makes sense! But what about the issues you don’t take much time to consider? Imagine what would happen if someone were to break into your car. Things could get hairy quick. Maybe you should consider some modern defense such as a Viper car alarm. These tend to deter the bad element fairly well.

I can’t tell you haw many times I’ve heard a car alarm go off in my lifetime. This is especially common in urban, well-populated areas like big cities. Back when I went to college in Portland, Oregon, I heard at least a car alarm sound each day. It got pretty old after a while. Not that I can bash those who invest in various security systems such as the Viper car alarm for their fancy rides. They do so for obvious reasons. They don’t want anyone messing with their vehicle when they’re not around, and they certainly do not want their ride to be stolen. Not to state the obvious, but some of those college professors have some pretty sweet cars. A Viper car alarm is mandatory.

One thing you’ll notice about cars with screaming alarm systems is that no one is around them. Big surprise! Once that alarm sounds, everyone fleas and takes cover. This is because folks like you and me are staring. It’s all about the attention a Viper car alarm attracts. Criminals don’t want attention! They just want to do their thing and go unnoticed. One of the great features offered on current quality car alarms is the self-start keypad. You can literally crank-up your engine before you even reach the vehicle. Now that’s what I call technology!

If you’re thinking about buying a car, play it smart and do your homework before just going browsing at a dealership. A car is a big ticket item and you want to make sure you make a good choice. You don’t want to pay more than is fair, and there are issues on safety and mileage and such that you’d do well to consider before making a decision on which car you want to buy.

There are two books you’ll want to have on hand before choosing a particular year and model. To evaluate price, consult the Kelly Blue Book®, which is the last word on the subject. The other book or magazine you’ll need is a car buyers guide. There are many different car buyers guides. You’ll find information online as well. What’s the difference between the Kelly Blue Book® and a car buyers guide?

The Kelly Blue Book® gives you the fair market value of any car you choose to buy. Factors used include make, model, year, condition and equipment. Banks use the Blue Book as well to evaluate loan values. The Blue Book assures you’ll pay a fair price and get good value. That’s just the money side of your purchase.

A car buyers guide is the consumer’s friend, helping you evaluate different cars as to quality, features, options available, safety, performance and the like. So before you rush out and buy a car just because you like the way it looks, take a look at a car buyers guide. Newsstands carry a variety of these and you’ll find this type of consumer information in abundance online.

In these times of high gasoline prices, the mileage the car gets is probably more than a passing thought. You need to consider the factors that are important to you. For example, if you’re usually driving around with a load of kids, the safety of the car in a potential crash is probably high on your priorities. So in that situation, you may need to trade off between mileage and the safety of a heavier vehicle. A car buyers guide helps you find a vehicle that serves your purpose.

If you’re fond of gadgets in the car, you’ll want to compare different makes of car to find out who rates best on quality of that CD player you want.

Maybe you do a lot of city and crowded freeway driving and you find it important to have a car that is quick to respond when the guy in front of you slams on his brakes. A car buyers guide includes features on performance, braking and maneuverability in tight situations. This is news you can use, don’t you think?

A car buyers guide, along with the Kelly Blue Book® will give you all the information you need to get value for your money in just the right car for you.

So there you are, strolling to your vehicle after a long day at work. You shuffle casually across the pavement as you search your purse for your car keys. What was that noise? Your eyes widen as you shoot glances in all directions. Unfortunately only shadows are seen because the sun has already dropped. It does this in the winter time far too early, hence leaving you without the benefit of fully seeing your surroundings. Our vision is cut in half once the sun goes down. Reacting like any human being, you pick up the pace, striving to reach your car sooner. Now you have your keys in-hand and your ears and eyes are on alert. You’re frightened and you want in that vehicle with the doors locked. Suddenly you spot a figure move next to your vehicle as you approach. You thumb the car alarm system button on your keyless remote and it blares like a siren. The figure darts off into the night and you dive into your vehicle safe and sound. You can sigh with relief now as you cruise home, safe inside the vehicle. Thank God this turned out okay!

What you just read was fairly ideal. Although all potential attacks don’t play-out this way, some do. This woman should certainly consider herself lucky. Her car alarm system is what deterred the attacker from following through. Studies show that assailants and criminals in general hate noise and attention. They don’t want you to make any ruckus or draw any attention to their existence. This causes eyes to shift and people to stare. They prefer to go unnoticed and use the advantage of surprise. DON”T ALLOW THIS! Get a decent car alarm system and always leave your vehicle doors locked; even when you’re driving. Every time you stop at a light or stop sign, an assailant has the opportunity to walk up and enter your vehicle. If it’s locked, he will commonly move on to the next opportunity. They want it to be easy. So keep them locked out. In combination with a loud car alarm system, this is a great defense.

So many individuals with nice vehicles invest in a car alarm system to protect their investment. This is all fine and good, but I wouldn’t worry about your car getting stolen as much as I would someone entering your car and lying low until you get in the driver’s seat. This is much more life threatening. That’s where a quality car alarm system can really come through. Don’t give them access!

As a car accident attorney, I don’t get a lot of respect. I guess this is true about most personal injury lawyers. If you work in personal injury, people assume that you are only in it to make money. The popular image of car accident attorneys is not very positive, and in some cases it is not that far off the mark. You see, there are a lot of unethical car wreck lawyers. Your typical car accident lawyer who advertises on daytime TV will do anything to make his case. He will distort the truth, and try to trick his client as well as the jury. I have even seen some of these car accident law firms that will give you cash advance settlements in exchange for a healthy chunk of what you make if you win your case. You think you’re getting a deal at the time, but you aren’t. It is just another person ripping you off.

Nonetheless, I did not become a car accident attorney because I wanted to make money. Although I do appreciate the salary that I get, I have more personal reasons than this. I would not have become a car accident attorney if not for the fact that one of my professors in college was crippled in a car wreck. The insurance company did everything they could to rip him off. He was a very smart man, but not much of a shrewd character. He didn’t have a competent car accident attorney, and as a result he got a little on the settlement. His medical bills almost destroyed his finances.

As you can see, I am not your typical car accident attorney. I even work as a pro bono attorney frequently – something which must car accident attorneys decline to do. It is my business to see that my client wins the case, but I am interested in justice being done. What allows me to have a clean conscience while being a car accident attorney is that I believe that everyone has the right to representation. My clients have as much of a right to good legal representation as the big insurance companies that will try to deny them the settlements that they deserve. In a perfect world, law would be socialized and everyone really would have equal representation. As it is, however, I try to do my part by offering discounts to clients who cannot afford my services.

Some dangers are hard to prepare for. Life can come at us in so many unpredictable ways. This is why all we can do is prepare and strive to prevent. We do this by taking certain safety measures in our homes, by paying close attention to our surroundings and by staying alert while behind the wheel. These are routine precautions that have remained part of our lives for many decades. The funny thing is we still have far too many car accidents in this country. There are literally thousands every single year. Ninety some percent these vehicular accidents could be easily prevented. It just takes a little common sense on the driver’s part. I would have to say one of the times you’re most susceptible to such dangers is when you first receive your license. This is when a car accident article and video tape are necessary.

It’s pretty frightening when you first start driving. I recall not knowing what in the world I was doing. After watching the standard driver’s ed videos and reading a car accident article or two, the words DANGER and FEAR were lingering in my mind. I wanted the freedom that the license brings, but I wanted nothing to do with the dangerous part. And yet many teenagers do. After all, they must, right? This is why they go out and drink, then drive. Forgive me, but I don’t buy the whole giving into peer pressure garbage and invincibility complex. I too was a teenager and I never gave into the drinking, drugs and smoking peer pressure. I just knew better and so does every teenager. It comes down to a simple choice. I watched three high school seniors, who apparently missed the car accident article and videos in driver’s education, die from drunk driving. They flew off the road going about 95 and hit a cement wall. Two of them burnt to death and the one with no seatbelt went through the windshield and splat on the cement wall. That’s reality for you.

Read a current car accident article. Find out the harsh statistics regarding unsafe driving. Learn to always take on the responsibility when you climb behind that wheel. This is a great responsibility after all. You not only hold your life in your hands, but maybe the lives of several others in your car, or on the road.
